THINK - WONDER - IMAGINE - INSPIRE
LAND

The Land section utilises cutting edge video and 2D graphics as well as realistic models of the animals. None of our models rely on taxidermy.
Cyprus is extremely proud of its two endemic land mammals. The largest wild animal and mammal currently residing in Cyprus is the Cypriot mouflon. At the other end of the size scale is the Cypriot mouse
(Mus cypriacus), which is the only remaining endemic rodent on the Mediterranean.
AIR

Owing to its geographical location on migration routes between Africa to Europe and western Asia, Cyprus has over 380 identified species of bird including Eleonora's falcon (Falco eleonorae),
the flamingo and the imperial eagle (Aquila heliaca). There are two endemic species of songbirds; the Cyprus warbler (Sylvia melanothorax) and the Cyprus wheatear (Oenanthe cypriaca).
Both only breed on the island of Cyprus and migrate south to overwinter. The site is also a top breeding site for the Bonelli’s Eagle (Aquila fasciata) and Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus).
It is also the top breeding site in Cyprus for both the Little Owl (Athene noctua) and the Chukar Partridge (Alectoris chukar), and a key site for the European Roller (Coracias garrulus).
Finally, it is the most important remaining breeding site for the Raven (Corvus corax) in Cyprus as well as the key site for breeding Blue Rock Thrush (Monticola solitarius).
WATER
Cyprus can’t really claim the fish that swim in its waters as its own - after all, the sea has no borders. But the turtles which reside here have been adopted as symbols of the island,
especially the loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) and the Green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas).
The cetaceans includes whales, dolphins and porpoises including the critically endangered Mediterranean monk seal.
KIDS AREA
The Kids Area is an inclusive gathering place where families and children of all backgrounds and experiences can interact and learn through exploration and play.
Anchored in research and evidence-based practices, the Kids Area addresses all areas of development, and is designed to create moments that will connect children’s everyday experiences to learning.
The primary focus of the experience is to foster an interest in and a love of the natural environment and Cyprus, all the animals and plants within it.
