Art Rooms Kyrenia showcases Arkin Award finalists

Following the outstanding success of the Arkin Award Exhibition at the Royal Society of Sculptors in Kensington, London, the second leg of the exhibition was opened at the Art Rooms in Kyrenia. Owing to the intense interest, the exhibition was twice extended. The winning submission of Lotter Blokker from the Netherlands is planned to be constructed on a hill overlooking Kyrenia. The statue, called “The Noble Peasant” is intended to represent a universal “son of the soil”. For Erbil Arkin, however, who first had the idea for a monumental statue in Cyprus, the main desire was for a work that would represent, “all things to all men”.
